We need patience when our prayer life has the feel of being empty, barren, and dark. Teresa of Avila says, “Patience obtains everything.” Faith is more than a decision. It requires patience and perseverance in the face of God’s hiddenness. Our hope is that God is seeking us in a world that seems so uncertain. We may have nostalgia for the past, but God is a God of creation, surprise and wonder. We are ever moving into transformation.
